About the role
- Burn is looking for a Casual Labour Coordinator who will be pivotal in ensuring the manufacturing entity operates smoothly by managing daily work schedules and rotas for casual labour.
- This position requires a proactive individual, seasoned in managing casual labour, to ensure production teams are staffed with the right skilled workers to meet production demands. This role demands strong work ethics, integrity and flexibility to be available when duty calls.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Staffing Strategy: Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop strategies to ensure the company is adequately staffed with skilled casual labour.
- Casual Request Fulfilment: Efficiently manage and respond to requests for casual workers, ensuring timely fulfilment of staffing needs.
- Address Staffing Shortfalls: Report and address staffing shortfalls promptly. Resolve issues related to staffing shortages or scheduling conflicts. Proactively replace casual workers who are absent to maintain uninterrupted production.
- Onboarding: Conduct comprehensive onboarding sessions for casual workers to familiarize them with company policies, production processes, and EHS and register them in the biometric system.
- Sourcing: Actively source additional casual workers in response to increasing work demands, ensuring a seamless integration into the workforce. Assist in the hiring process by screening candidates.
- Compensation Alignment: Verify and align casual workers’ compensation with the biometric attendance system for accurate payment for days worked.
- Performance Monitoring: Generate daily staffing reports to track attendance and performance. Provide feedback to employees and management and submit weekly performance reports.
- Employee Compensation: Confirm staff details and working hours for accurate compensation. Collaborate with payroll to address pay discrepancies and ensure timely payment.
Skills and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
- 4 years + proven experience in staffing coordination within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of labour laws and regulations.
- Experience managing employee relations is an added advantage.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Collaborative mindset with cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication across all company levels.
