REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

For appointment to this grade an officer Must:

Be a Kenyan citizen (National Identity Card/ Passport);

Have Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwife, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution;

Have Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya;

Be in possession of a Valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya;

Have a Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution; and

Have Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

Assessing, plaining, implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patient’s outcomes;

Providing appropriate healthcare services including integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCD, immunization, PMTCT, ante-natal care and health counselling to patients/clients and community on identified health needs; delivery, providing education and

Referring patients and clients appropriately;

Facilitating patients’ admissions and __ initiating discharge plans;

Maintaining records on patient’s /client’s health conditions and care;

Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment;

Collecting and compiling data;

Any other relevant duties that may be assigned from time to time.
